Area of productionAOC Gaillac
Soil and climateThe vines are planted on a plateau corresponding to the 2° terrace of the Tarn river. The Domaine Rotier Terroir is composed of very nice gravelly soils.
Grape varieties35% Syrah, 35% Braucol and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Climate conditions2018 climate was very contrasted. After a rainy Winter and a stormy Spring, the weather was dry and hot from mid-July to the end of September. This Summer allowed a good grapes maturation and the harvest occured on September 11th, 19th and 21st in excellent conditions.
Type of winemakingGrapes fermented in old oak barrels without sulfur, at 18/20°C, in order to preserve their aromatic qualities.
Type of ageingAgeing in tanks lasted a few weeks, only to keep the fruitiness of the wine. Bottled on November 28th 2018.
Tasting notesThis wine develops aromas of red fruit (stawberries and raspberries), completed by blackcurrants and spices. It is charming and well balanced on the palate and expresses a very fruity finish.
Food recommandationIt should be served around 8°C. It will be an excellent aperitif, and will match with delicatessen and summer's salads or grilled meats.
