For groups, tailor-made packages available, right through to a meal in the cellar.

Whether you have five minutes, half an hour, or want a full discovery tour, the whole Domaine Rotier team is delighted to welcome you. It’s often a chance to talk about the current vintage, the season in the vines, our organic practices and the grape varieties found only in the Gaillac area. These conversations are one of the best parts of the job.

The tasting room — walk-ins welcome

Our tasting and sales room is open without an appointment. Come taste the estate’s wines, ask your questions, and take home whatever you enjoyed. Tastings are free. It’s the natural starting point for discovering the range, from dry whites to late-harvest wines, organic reds and sparkling wines.

To go further than a tasting in the tasting room, three experiences are available by reservation. They run in small groups (up to 8 people for guided tours) and offer a different way of understanding the estate beyond a glass in hand.

Gourmet Immersion at Domaine Rotier

The Gourmet Immersion — guided tour and commentated tasting

A full tour of the estate, 1.5 hours long. We start in the vines: the gravel soils, our organic practices, the grape varieties grown only in the Gaillac area. We continue through the winemaking, ageing and storage cellars to see how grapes become wine. We finish with a commentated tasting of five wines representative of the range, paired with local, organic nibbles. A local organic drink is offered to children.

This isn’t a museum-style tour. We answer questions, open bottles we don’t always open, and talk about the current vintage and the season’s work. Designed for groups of up to 8 people, by reservation.

Tasting

The Walking Aperitif Tour — through the vines, glass in hand

A stroll between the rows of vines, glass in hand, moving through the plots and grape varieties. We walk, we taste, we listen. The idea: understand where the wine comes from by seeing the vine that produces it, the soil underfoot, the Autan wind in the leaves, the difference between a Duras vine and a Braucol vine.

A relaxed, sociable format, designed for groups who’d rather have an outdoor experience than an indoor tasting. Ideal in spring and summer, in the late afternoon when the light on the Tarn’s gravel soils is at its best.

Cycling Aperitif Tour

The Cycling Aperitif Tour — by bike through the vineyard

The same idea as the walking aperitif tour, but on two wheels. We cycle through the estate’s plots, stop to taste, and carry on. It’s a way to cover more ground, cross parts of the vineyard you wouldn’t see on foot, and take in the landscape of Gaillac’s “Little Tuscany” from a different angle.

The perfect experience for team-building days, hen or stag parties, or simply a group of friends wanting to get off the beaten track — quite literally.

Cellar tour

Groups and tailor-made packages

For established groups, we can put together a programme tailored to your request. A guided tour of the vines and cellars, a tasting paired with local produce, a meal in the cellar or outdoors in the warmer months provided by a catering service: the possibilities are numerous.

Frequently asked questions about visits

Do I need to book to come and taste at the tasting room?

No. The tasting room is open without an appointment Monday to Saturday, from 9 am to 12 pm and 2 pm to 7 pm (6 pm from October to end of May), except Sundays and public holidays. Tastings are free.

Are the experiences suitable for children?

Yes. The Gourmet Immersion offers a local organic drink for children in place of the wine tasting. The walks through the vines (Walking Aperitif Tour, Cycling Aperitif Tour) are suitable for families depending on the children’s age.

How many people can join a guided tour?

Guided tours run in small groups, up to 8 people. For larger groups, contact us directly to arrange a tailored programme, at least two weeks in advance.

Can we organise a meal at the estate?

Yes, for groups. A meal in the cellar or outdoors in the warmer months can be arranged, provided by a catering service. This can be combined with a tour or a tasting. Please contact us directly to organise it.

How long does the Gourmet Immersion last?

1.5 hours. The tour covers the vines, the winemaking and ageing cellars, and finishes with a commentated tasting of five wines paired with local, organic nibbles.
