Climate conditions2023 was a year of very mixed weather. After a fairly wet start to January, there was virtually no rain between 21 January and 6 March. The rain returned in March, then fell much less in April, before picking up again in May. Not much rain fell in June (68 mm, including 40 on the 29th), but the number of wet days combined with the hot weather led to an explosion in mildew contamination, resulting in crop losses. The weather then turned fine and dry during July, August, September and October, with record-breaking temperatures once again. Harvesting took place on August 28 and 29.
Type of winemakingThe must fermented in French oak and acacia barrels (less than 10 % new). The two varieties are blended before fermentation.
Type of ageingThe wine is left on its lees which are regularly stirred. Bottled on 2024-06-24.
Tasting notesOn the nose, this wine develops scents of peaches and pears with slight vanilla notes. The mouthfeel is rich thanks to the Loin de l'OEil and stays fresh thanks to the Sauvignon. The aromas found on the nose (peaches, pears) can be find back as well as scents of dill and anise.
Food recommandationServe at around 10°C with fish, poultry and white meats. Very good also with goat and ewe cheeses. May be cellared for four to five years.
