Climate conditions | 2024 was a difficult year for our vines. After a mild winter (no frost in February or March), a late frost on 19 April wiped out part of the harvest on some vines and reduced the potential on others. The wet, mild spring led to contamination by mildew and black rot, resulting in crop losses. The weather only turned fine and dry at the end of July and until 15 August. A violent storm with hail on 24 August further damaged part of the crop. In addition, 180 mm of rain fell between mid-August and mid-October. Fortunately, a few periods of fine weather meant that the grapes could be harvested in good conditions. What's more, the weather kept the juices fresh and, as the quantity was relatively modest, the grapes were able to reach full ripeness. The grapes were picked by hand between 16 and 24 September. |
