Climate conditionsIn 2020, the mild winter preceded a sunny spring at the beginning, which was more watery afterwards. Flowering took place at the end of May in fine weather. After a rainy period at the beginning of June, the summer was hot and very dry. The harvest therefore took place in excellent conditions with a perfect grapes quality from August 25th to September 29th.
Type of winemakingThe different grapes ferment separately at 28 - 30°C. Maceration lasts from 3 to 5 weeks.
Type of ageingAged for 20 months in tanks and old barrels. Bottling occured on 2022 April 28th and 29th.
Tasting notesThe colour is dark purple. In its youth, this wine presents aromas of black fruit, mingling with notes of liquorice and pepper. On the palate, it is a fruity, fleshy wine, with firm but gentle tannins.
Food recommandationIt should be served between 16 and 18°C and matches particularly well with the typical dishes of the Southwest : cassoulet, duck as well as grilled red meats. It may be cellared for 8-10 years.
