Climate conditions | 2023 was a year of very mixed weather. After a fairly wet start to January, there was virtually no rain between 21 January and 6 March. The rain returned in March, then fell much less in April, before picking up again in May. Not much rain fell in June (68 mm, including 40 on the 29th), but the number of wet days combined with the hot weather led to an explosion in mildew contamination, resulting in crop losses. The weather then turned fine and dry during July, August, September and October, with record-breaking temperatures once again. Harvesting took place between 28 August and 8 September. |
Type of winemaking | Grapes fermented in old oak barrels without sulfur, at 18/20°C, in order to preserve their aromatic qualities. |
Type of ageing | Ageing in tanks lasted a few weeks, only to keep the fruitiness of the wine. Bottled on March 5th 2024. |
Tasting notes | This wine develops aromas of red fruit (stawberries and raspberries), completed by blackcurrants and spices. It is charming and well balanced on the palate and expresses a very fruity finish. |
Food recommandation | It should be served around 8°C. It will be an excellent aperitif, and will match with delicatessen and summer's salads or grilled meats. |
